All photographs on our web site are kindly provided by Dr. Kim Bridges of the University of Hawaii Manoa. He has published many more images on his pages.

One can also find more Hawai`i bird pictures on the Hawaii Audubon Society web site.

Remember, your help is urgently needed in this effort to keep watch for the arrival of bird flu (avian influenza), and West Nile Virus.

Although these two diseases are very different, they can both kill birds. That's why we are asking for your help in reporting dead birds that may have died from either disease.

The operator will take location information and dispatch trained technicians to pick up the bird for testing.

Please note:

  1. These two diseases are not yet known to be in Hawaii.
  2. You do not need to touch dead or sick birds and never with your bare hands.
  3. Call 211 if you see a dead bird, or use our online form here.

Mahalo for your interest and concern, and for helping to guard the health of our families and community.
